Step 1: Confirm your Enrollment

Confirm your enrollment. Confirming your enrollment is the next step in becoming a UMD Bulldog. Confirmed students will, later be invited to sign up for New Student Orientation, Advisement and Registration (OAR).

Make sure you have the following items on hand to confirm your intent to enroll:

  • Student ID Number: this is found on your admission letter from UMD.
  • Credit Card: using a credit card is the easiest way to pay the non-refundable confirmation fee.

Step 2: Sign up for Orientation, Advisement and Registration (OAR)

Orientation, Advisement and Registration (OAR) is a multifaceted experience that takes place prior to starting at UMD. Students will be invited via their UMD email address to sign up for an Orientation Date. You can expect this process to begin in early November for students starting spring 2022 and early March for students starting fall 2022.

For questions about OAR, you can reach out to the Bulldog Resource Center at 218-726-6393 or [email protected].

Step 3: Financial Aid

Complete your FAFSA and have the information sent to UMD (Federal School Code: 002388). We understand that incoming students and their families will have questions regarding their financial aid. A helpful resource page is available to assist you. If you can't find what you're looking for there, our staff at One Stop Student Services would be delighted to assist you. Email us at [email protected] or call 218-726-8000.

Virtual Financial Aid Appointments

These 30-minute financial aid appointments, designed for admitted seniors and their families, are created to meet you where you are in the process, help you navigate the FAFSA, explain estimated financial aid offers, explore financial aid resources that are available, and answer any questions you might have.

Click here and select a time slot on our Financial Aid Educator’s calendar that works best for you. Specify in the description if you prefer a Zoom session or would like a telephone call. Our Educator will get back to you with the appointment confirmation.

Step 4: Housing

Check out our Housing & Residence Life Office page for more information about on-campus housing, or click here for off-campus housing listings.

Apply for housing online or contact the Housing & Residence Life Office for more information about living on-campus.

Step 5: College Transcripts

Submit all final official college transcripts to UMD. Be sure to send us your final transcript from your current institution once final grades have been posted. Transcripts can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to:
