Complete these important steps before arriving on campus.
Step 1: Confirm your Enrollment
Confirm your enrollment. Confirming your enrollment is the next step in becoming a UMD Bulldog. After you pay the non-refundable confirmation fee, you can select your registration date.
Make sure you have the following items on hand to confirm your intent to enroll:
- Student ID Number: this is found on your admission letter from UMD.
- Credit Card: using a credit card is the easiest way to pay the non-refundable confirmation fee.
- Schedule: it’s best to know your availability before selecting a session.
Step 2: Financial Aid
Complete your FAFSA and have the information sent to UMD (Federal School Code: 002388). We understand that incoming students and their families will have questions regarding their financial aid. A helpful resource page is available to assist you. If you can't find what you're looking for there, our staff at One Stop Student Services would be delighted to assist you. Step 4: College Transcripts
Submit all final official college transcripts to UMD. Be sure to send us your final transcript from your current institution once final grades have been posted. Transcripts can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to:

Step 5: Transfer Prep Meeting (optional)
Schedule a 30-minute meeting (phone or in-person) with our Transfer Service Coordinator to review your transfer record before registration. You'll discuss:
- Academic progress report
- Transcripts on file with UMD
- Courses that are transferable to UMD
- Introduction to the MyU portal

October 15 — Spring transfer application priority deadline (for scholarship consideration)
January — Spring semester classes begin!
June 15 — Fall transfer application priority deadline (for scholarship consideration)
August — Fall semester classes begin!
