Virtual Visit Programs

Virtual information session and tour

During this 75 minute virtual program, you will attend a Zoom presentation with one of our Admissions Counselors outlining general information about UMD. During the presentation, our Admissions Counselors will be available to answer your questions via chat. The program will conclude with Q&A and a live virtual tour of campus with a Bulldog Tour Guide.

Tips to help you get the most out of your virtual program:

  • For the most seamless connection, it is recommended that you preload the most up to date Zoom application on your computer or mobile device before your program begins.
  • Use headphones or earbuds for the best sound quality.
  • Test the connection about 5 minutes ahead of your program.
  • Check out the "Visit Resources" drop-down below for admissions materials and links to videos.

On-Campus Visit Programs

Please note: Guided and self-guided tour programs for July 6 - 30 have been posted. Please check back on July 14 for August programs.

On-Campus Visits and COVID-19

  • Please do not attend your visit if you or anyone in your household is ill or experiencing any symptoms of COVID-19;
  • Due to limited capacity, we encourage a maximum of two guests per registered student;
  • If you are coming with another registered student and prefer to be in the same tour group, please list this in the additional requests section. We cannot guarantee requests that are not made at the time of registration;
  • Each prospective student must register in advance;
  • If you are fully vaccinated, no masks are required in any University building, venue, or outdoors (except as posted, such as in health clinics). The definition of fully vaccinated is two weeks following the second Pfizer or Moderna dose or two weeks after the single Johnson and Johnson dose. If you voluntarily wish to wear a mask, you are absolutely able to do so;
  • If you are not fully vaccinated, the Governor’s Order acknowledges the associated risk of getting and spreading COVID-19, and the University expects you to wear a mask indoors;

Self-Guided Campus Tours

Please note: Self-guided tour programs for July 6 - 29 have been posted. Please check back on July 14 for August programs.

Registration

Self-guided tours are offered at select times throughout the week. Please register for the time slot you will be on campus. Registration helps us to limit congestion. Visitors should check-in at the Office of Admissions located at 41 Solon Campus Center.

Also, keep in mind: not all offices are open, and you could run into locked doors along the way. If you want to meet with an Admissions Counselor, please contact your counselor to see if they are available. If they are not available, they can refer you to another staff member who is. Find your counselor at d.umn.edu/connect.
