Paying for College
A college degree is a great investment and there are many resources to help put your education within reach. A great way to start is by submitting the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Our Financial Aid Educator is ready to guide you and your family through the best financial path.
Life as a Bulldog
Our unique location and connected campus facilitates natural interactions, while our mid-size research-focused university provides a balance of opportunities and individual attention. Here you'll find over 260 student organizations and two NCAA Division I and 14 Division II athletics teams. UMD fosters an environment where students can be themselves and pursue their interests.
Get Ready for UMD
The Bulldog Orientation, Advisement & Registration (OAR) program is mandatory for all incoming students. It introduces you to campus resources and connects you with fellow students. This program is a key support in your journey to UMD.
The Fall Bulldog OAR programs occur each year in June, July, and August. In mid-March, confirmed students will receive an email inviting them to choose their Bulldog OAR session.
Parents and Families
It is a pleasure to welcome both you and your student to the UMD community! Our number one priority is the success of our students and we know that the support from you is essential. Here are a few ways you can support your student:
• Attend an Admitted Student Day
• Help your student in securing and sending their official transcripts
• Encourage your student to add you as a guest to their OAR registration
• Reach out to us with your questions-- we're happy to help!
