Banded Tuition
At UMD, every credit you take per semester after 13 credits is free of charge. Banded tuition helps keep your educational costs down and encourages students to graduate in four years. Students who take fewer than 13 credits will be charged on a per-credit basis.

Midwest Student Exchange Program (MSEP)
UMD is a member of the Midwest Student Exchange Program. Residents of these states qualify for tuition that is slightly higher than in-state tuition:

- Kansas
- Missouri
- Nebraska
- Ohio

The University has reciprocity agreements with the following:

- Wisconsin
- Manitoba
If you are a resident of any of these states or province, you may qualify for reciprocity tuition at the University, which is comparable to resident tuition.
